Data Security and Compliance Seminar

Federal and state data security regulations apply to nearly every business and individual in the nation, yet many businesses are unaware of the legal requirements, leaving them open to fines, penalties, and law suits. To support the business community in Amarillo, DSS is hosting a free seminar to help professionals in every field navigate these regulations and protect themselves and their companies from liability.

Bart Huffman - Chair of Locke Lord's Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice
Ray Barry is best known as the previous Dean and founder of Shred School, a popular industry training course that contributed to the success of many of the well-known secured destruction  and information management companies around the globe. Prior to his current role as Managing Partner at Stevens & Stevens Business Records Management (Greenville SC) , Barry worked in sales leadership positions for national and international secure destruction companies, trained industry professionals at more than 300 companies (over 1,000 industry professionals), and served as NAID President, Secretary, and Director and also spent 2 years as NAID Deputy Executive Director. He has also been a presenter at NAID Global Conferences the past 10 years. 

Bart Huffman has a systems engineering background and experience in privacy and information security matters that spans the modern history of the area. He provides advice concerning policies and strategies; technology agreements; enterprise cloud computing; compliance programs; and data breach preparedness and response, among other things. He holds a J.D. from the University of Texas and a B.S.E. from Princeton University with a Certificate in Engineering and Management Systems. Based in Austin, Texas, Bart is admitted to practice law in Texas, New York, and California, and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He is also an Certified Information Privacy Professional/US, and serves on the Certifications Advisory Board of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Bart also serves as an adjunct professor, teaching Privacy and Cyber Security in the Information Age at the University of Texas School of Law.
